There was an article in the newspaper yesterday that said they were just as bad. I am not sure it was a whole packet but it was several cigarettes worth in one joint, so worth looking into if you want to respect your health.
unfortunately its sorta true! One joint is equal to 5 cigarettes in terms of lung damage.

It does make your lungs produce alot of the flem that is coughed up though. Pot doesn't contain the tar and nicotine that is the most harmful aspect of cigarettes.
