Does a presidents pardon as term ends show his true colors?

It's within his rights to do such a thing I think. It's also obvious to everyone why he does it and when he does it. Although there is nothing to do about it.. we can determine what kind of president he was, right? Doesn't that make almost every president a bad one? Or do we believe that those pardoned should be above the law?Does a presidents pardon as term ends show his true colors?
I don't think it's them necessarily showing their true colors. All of the presidents have issued pardons at the end of their term over the last few decades. If you look at almost all of Bush's pardons you'll notice that he typically only pardoned people that had already served their time. It's frequently used as a way of acknowledging that someones dept to society has been paid and to clear their record. Obviously, that's not always the case and politics will play a part as well. By the way, it is within the President's powers per the Constitution.
