When is the next true revolution going to occur in terms of the ever-molding society that we exist in?

Throughout history one trend can be traced with accuracy and without doubt and that is change. Recently the amount of change in the global society has been incrementing steadily and rapidly as compared to historic accounts. Industrial, technological (sp), transportational...plenty of advancements have occured to increase the ';standard of living';, but nothing truly and utterly earthshattering, more of a gentle nudge towards change. When, and with the course of wordly events as they are transpiring, can, the human race experience another great shift towards improvement as a whole?When is the next true revolution going to occur in terms of the ever-molding society that we exist in?
There has been such a great deal of change in the last half century that people are numb. People have not caught up with the changes. I doubt most individuals can. We had a thirty year stretch of time in which one foolish miscalculation on the part of the US or the USSR could have resulted in the deaths of billions. But most people tuned it out. Most people can't even accept an idea like evolution. There are those who still adamently hold to magical theories of the Universe. Some would say it is the majority, though I rather doubt it.

Right here on Yahoo questions I just responded to someone asking earnestly if women should be allowed to work. Some people actually answered in the negative... astonishing.

Clearly, there will have to be a period of stultification before the real revolution in society can occur. I do not think we will see it in our lives. The late Theodore Sturgeon, one of the great humanist science fiction writers once said: ';I believe in the end we will all be free, and our world will be a paradise. We'll probably just have to go through a thousand years of fascism first.';

I find this a sad thought, but as I've seen the world unfold before me, I've come to believe it true.When is the next true revolution going to occur in terms of the ever-molding society that we exist in?
I think if there's anything left , within 20 years the US will see history repeat, again over taxation and representation. The Bourgeois will rise again...and again. The problem this time is we are getting sold out by our own Government, they are wasting our money, destroying our global reputation, and worse yet forcing our ideology down the throat of the Mid East and beyond, all the while slowly taking our rights and liberties. Who are we to police the world, to say we are right, to be the self proclaimed chosen ones? When we , in some ways are the same as they? When the dust settles don't be surprised if the hero that emerges, the new superpower is not the US. Who knows, it may even be Osama Bin Laden...
The next big change, I would hope is the disappearance of terrorists and violence in a greater scale. However, in contrary to improvement, but a dramatic change nontheless, these ';terrorist organizations'; may succeed in whatever they aspire to do. I know not what it is, but I am sure that it will have a great impact in the global community.
Watch a lotus petal blossom.

Is there ever a 'great shift'?

Look within, rather than without, for your answers.

A mentor once advised me to get a golf ball, and cut it open.

I did, and inside it was like rubber bands wrapped extremely tight. I cut into that, and sometimes I could manually unwind the one long rubber band, other times it took on a life of its own, and jumped around, unraveling as the tension relaxed. Sometimes with effort, sometimes on its own, deeper and deeper towards the core.

I finally got to the core, and was kinda disappointed. Truly, it's about the journey, and not the journey's end.
The removal of the technology and their use after the nuclear evaporation of most of society as we know it due to mans never ending talent at corrupting and destroying everything that that ever mattered while in search of power and superiority. US -N Korea - Iran - Israel - Iraq - Sudan - China- Etc . God have mercy on us all
only when the super powers relalize that together we stand, divided we fall, and then get together and help the underdeveloped countries have a chance at survival. we will have to fight those that do not care about the one's who are in the most need. it sounds like maybe we are there, right now.
The only real change has been in technological terms. No organism as complex as the human being will fundamentally change over a period of thousands of years; we pull a veneer of civilisation over our heads, but see how easily we revert to the snarling cave-dwellers that we really are. Also, don`t confuse change with advancement.
