For those who are just here for the free drinks, enjoy.
By using a meaningless currency, it changes the stakes of the game, no? To the 'conditional' theist who thinks winning this stupid game is all important, they can't bear the thought of losing those wonderful blue and pink bills.
Perhaps they are just upset that the rest of us don't want to play make-believe like they do. Or maybe they don't care if we play, but we just accept their 'currency' as legal tender in the real world.True or False: It is far more appropriate to think of Pascal's Wager in terms of 'Monopoly' money?
The analogy is well observed in that the money in the game, even though worthless in real life, nevertheless does have its value ';in the game.';True or False: It is far more appropriate to think of Pascal's Wager in terms of 'Monopoly' money?
not really, monopoly money is at least worth the paper it is printed on...
Everybody knows it's all about the orange bills, not the pink and blue ones.
It's better not to think of Pascal's Wager at all. It's an embarrassment to philosophy. I much prefer Anselm of Canterbury's Ontological Argument.
It's a little early.... f*ck it...
*cheers*
False. The deal is way more important than toy money or even real money.
I call dibs on the battleship!
Pretty much, yes.
I prefer pelts and beads. Call me archaic.
lol.
False, I find Pascal's Wager to be similar to the air held in an unclenched fist instead of monopoly money. When you open up the fist what do you have?
I get the car! *drink*
I like Life money, and those marbles from Hungry Hungry Hippos. There's more options than Monopoly money or none.
Whether you think it is make-believe or not doesn't change the truth. If I don't believe in the law of gravity and decide to jump off a building - it doent change reality.
The reality is that there is a God who loves us, He has a purpose for your life. We will all be judged one day and since we all fall short of perfection - we need Jesus becuase he paid the price for our sin.
