Japanese cars are really better in quality, %26amp; design than US cars. And both Japanese %26amp; American car makers know this. Problem now is, why did they even allow Japanese brands to get into this country when it has already caused a lot of jobs lost to American car makers, like Ford %26amp; GMC, cutting down on thousands of employees for not making enough sales, which was all over the news nationwide, make that worldwide. And they blame the Japanese car makers for this. The American car buying public has gotten smarter %26amp; know which cars really deserve their hard-earned bucks, and they are all after good quality cars %26amp; this is one thing the Japanese cars have maintained throughout the years. Toyota %26amp; Lexus, Honda %26amp; Acura, Nissan %26amp; Infiniti, (and the ailing) Mitsubishi are making the American car makers suffer, by giving the public better vehicles, better service %26amp; better design which is now hard for the American car makers to cope up with. They make new designs, but they are just making them look like Japanese cars. They're really getting lost now. and don't know what to do. That's why their going back to their muscle cars which is not in demand these days because of high gas prices. They are just committing suicide by doing this, and I hope they succeed. Is it true that Japanese brand cars are far more better than American brand cars, in terms of quality?
yes , japanese cars run faster and better
american cars at one point backthen but
because of air pullution they stop
making them but japanese cars inten to be
slower when imported to the usa

In my experience, yes, historically Japanese cars are of better quality. However, nowadays, many American car parts are made and assembled in other countries, including Japan and vice versa, so that's not really a fair question anymore.
lol im reading all those messages and cant believe, one guy said im buying only american cars czu im american, bul$hit you know bruh, im russian, and it doesnt mean i have to buy only russian cars, and, he said he bought f250, well have a good one with spending yo cheese on gaz u know? dang ppl i have a nissan 240sx 1990 model and im really proud of that, honestly, i will never buy any american car except ummmm oh yea - corvette, Yaayyy!1 peace girls
I've owned both Japanese and American vehicles and the foreign ones win hands down. The ';fit and finish'; is much better, mechanically they seem to have fewer problems, get better mileage for the most part, last longer, and last but not least, I have always gotten better service at the foreign dealerships than the domestic ones. On top of that, a lot of ';japanese'; cars are made here in the USA.
lol, most american cars are too big for japanese streets, plus american cars in japan will be imports, so they'll cost more. there arent too many ppl who would pay for an inferior import when their domestic vehicles are so much better.
YES. Japanese buy the best cars: their own!!
The guy that says you don't see Toyotas (or any ';Jap'; car) in racing is absolutely wrong. Obviously not a racing fan.
Yes, sadly they have higher quality %26amp; better mileage then American made cars.
well i know this is most likely not going to get read seeing how low on the list it is ,but i have herd that question way to often , are jap cars better , its up to the person thats shelling out the money , i prefer americam made ( chevy fan here ) ask your self this why isnt there jap cars in nascar , or nastruck , seeing these cars are now being made in the usa and just owned in the other countries , and every car company has parts from china and mexico because its cheeper to get them from there , as far whats the best lets see in 20 to 30 years and see whats here then and declair a best then
it depend on what you are looking for. japanese made car are suppose to be fuel economcy. but it also mean that their metal is not as hard as those amercian made one.
contintent car last longer unlike japanese cars in terms of all the parts. like brakes pad, timing belt etc.
Japanese made car are also cheaper to begin with.
i guess the reason why you hardly see a american car in japan becos the living standard in japan is very high. it is very hard for ppl to maintain cars which is why they go for more japanese made car cos it is cheaper.
like wise where i stay, there are more jap cars then contintent car.
I hate to say this........sigh but I think the other people have made some excellent points..I had hoped to read at least one pro american anwser...Me....I buy American every chance I get...but I also own one Mazda...pickup....
My newest vechile is a f250....I plan on buying only american from now on......I just hope our car companys will get thier heads out of thier buts and improve thier products.. peace.......
in terms of quality? yes.
I'm not professional, but I think so.
Yes, it true. They run longer and better.
You're really asking two different questions. First, it's true that Japanese cars are far better than American cars in terms of quality - and in terms of design. Consumer Reports' just released their best cars issue for 2006 - Japanese cars hold ALL the top ten spots (first time ever without American car in top ten), and the top of each category.
Second question is why there is no production of US autos in Japan. That's because Japan protects its domestic markets by making it so expensive for US automakers to import parts that there can be virtually no market for US cars in Japan.
not necessarily. it depends on what kind of car we're talkin about. for example i don't think 92 accords can run better than 99 mustangs
YES THAT IS TRUE, BUT GERMAN CARS OUT CLASS THE JAPANESE CARS
yes
i think it is true. i have a 20 year old honda that i know has not been regularly maintained, yet it still runs better than many of the american cars that are far younger than it.
I had a toyota pickup for 16 years and never needed anything but yearly tune-ups, and new tires once n' a while. Now I have an isuzu trooper rs, an 89. same thing and that bad girl start evry time, even with a battery that's 11 years old. Sad to say, but they work better than my husbands' dodge's.
depends on the brand, my dad works for a company that works for the umbrella company that owns mitsubishi (they were forced to spilt up in WWII because they were japanese) and he says that they made some terrible cars, but now are making ok cars (there trade secret is to make bad cars) but toyta makes the best cars on the world.
most japanese cars are either built in canada and the U.S. these days so you can consider japanese cars are american cars. Next time you go to a dealership look at the sticker on the window, it says 25%built in Japan, 95% built in canada or mexico or U.S.
