I know the standard advice is that a person needs 7 hours or so of sleep per night, but what happens in the long term if this isn't possible? Say if someone only gets five hours of sleep on average a night for years because they have a busy life/career? What happens in this situatiion, Does the body ever adapt to a shorter sleep period? What are the true long term health effects of not enough sleep?
YOu automatically adjust to it,unless you are in bad health..that wouldnt be a good thing to do!What are the true long term health effects of not enough sleep?
ur skin shrivels up and u lose or hain weight
In the long run, it could be fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a disease that affects your muscles and bones and is caused by lack of sleep. It has no cure. You can only take pain killers to relieve the pain.
You sleep for weeks when you finally get the chance and catch up.
I dont know, all I know is that when I dont get enough sleep I am not able to concentrate/dont want to do anything including working out and want to eat lots of junk food.
So getting fat is the consequence for me personally.
